‘Every note sings God’s glory’ according to the plaque for the newly-dedicated piano. The glorious tones of the Yamaha piano enrich Sunday morning worship and special events. Special thanks go to members of the parish’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) Ministry, who dedicated themselves to retiring the piano fund debt, with lots of community activities, like pancake meals and Cinco de Mayo parties.
‘Fr. Norm and Friends’ quartet perform at our
Jazz Mass & Jazz Vespers
Fr. Norm is a Grammy Award-winning percussionist who has traveled the world performing with megastars such as Barbra Streisand. He is a Juilliard-trained percussionist and jazz musician whose talents and gifts translate easily into liturgy and ritual. His Sunday messages are word and music; he interprets Scripture through vibraphone.
The Fr. Norm & Friends quartet delights with periodic Jazz Masses and vespers, an ancient musical service transformed into our modern times.
The choir leads our principal Sunday worship service, blending a tradition of excellence with challenging and diverse musical selections to the praise and glory of God. Under the direction of David Clemensen on organ and piano, they also offer special Evensong and other events.
The choir leads the congregation in music at every 10:00 a.m. Sunday service and at other services as required, including special occasions and Holy Days.
They meet regularly each Wednesday night during the year.
